Michael
Going, Los Angeles based photographic artist and educator, has long been internationally
recognized as the premier photographer of hand altered Polaroid SX-70 photography.
Cited as the "Master of the Manipulated Polaroid" (Photo District News).
Going was first celebrated for ground breaking editorial essays for Sports Illustrated,
Time and many other leading national publications as well as the first ever
use of altered Polaroids for major national advertising campaigns for Hyatt Resorts
and other leading companies.
Michael Going's unique vision has been
profiled in leading publications such as Communication Arts, American Photographer,
Photo/Design and numerous others.
Since 1978, besides the commercial
and editorial assignments, he created
a vast body of personal work, including
essays on Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii and numerous other subjects and
explorations.
Mr. Going's work is in museums such as Maison Europeene
de la Photographie in Paris, corporate collections such as the Polaroid Corporation
and Frito-Lay as well as numerous private collections.
In 2005 Polaroid Corp ceased making the Time Zero film and ended an era of

Photographer's
note: I created over 4,000 hand altered Polaroids plus over 12,000 that were not
altered.
The portfolios show examples of that personal, editorial and commercial
work
created
from 1978-2006. The photographs are presented in rough chronological order. Particular
emphasis is given to Los Angeles because I live here, and have frequently concentrated
my creativie efforts on changing interest list of different areas of Los Angeles.
